The following memo addresses the need for heightened awareness to bias in language. Through careful language and specific examples, I was able to convey the importance of non-bias language in the workplace.
Write a formal letter to employees to announce a merger. (Informative and positive messaging)
Hello everyone,
I have some extremely exciting news regarding the future of this company. The many rumors you have heard around the office are true. We are pleased to announce that we are merging with ABC company! As of today, an agreement has been reached to merge with 123 Company. Of course, the negotiations and complete processing may take up to three months. In the interim period, we anticipate operating as we do currently; no changes in management have been discussed or approved. This week 123 Company will begin a major restructuring effort to decentralize our operations and push decision-making lower in the organization. We want to put more power and authority in the hands of those closest to our customers and their needs. Inconclusion the merger will require some retraining, but no job cuts are scheduled, nor will there be a change in compensation. The company will be moving to a new space that will be shared with the new team. The space is being prepared, but specific office spaces have not been assigned. We hope you are as excited as we are! Please reach out!
Thank you all
Cameron Hunter
Real life Artifacts I have used
The following memo addresses a scenario problem that I answered for my masters class revolving the work place. Through careful language and citing exactly what I found, I was able to convey the important information to my higher ups.
Dear Mr. Boss,
I cannot hold this information any longer, as of this week while looking at our books from the past seven years I traced a pattern in money leaving accounts and they have led to my fellow co-worker Jimmy Henderson.
I wanted to get your attention to the inappropriate behavior of Jimmy Henderson. On September 6th, 2023, I caught him creating bills and receipts for activities that did not occur. He is using the money that our company gives us to pay for personal expenses. While doing further research I found that over his 7-year tenure with our company he has taken over $50,000 in expenses. Our only option is to bring him in and get That said, I do not feel comfortable working in an office environment where this sort of behavior is acceptable, and I hope necessary steps will be taken to ensure that it does not happen again.
Thank you,
Cameron Hunter
